יום אחד פתאם נפל דבר
אלהים אמר לאברהם: עכשיו אתה נבחר
של נעליך, כנס את הגמלים
ואת האשה ואת הילדים
לך לך אחורה אל תביט
לך מארצך תהיה פליט

או לפעמים אני חוצה את הרחוב
וחושב על התנ"ך ועל אבינו יעקב
חושב לי על אבינו אבינו יעקב
איך למרות הצלחתו התחיל לחשוש
היורה סרב לבוא, ולא בא גם המלקוש
יעקב אבינו פתאם התחיל לחשוש

יום אחד כבר לא היתה ברירה
הוא הבין: צריך מיד לנוע למדינה זרה
את רעבונו אמנם השקיט, אך
במלכות מצרים הפך הוא לפליט
את רעבונו השקיט במצרים הוא נהיה פליט

העולם שלנו מתקדם מהר
יש מלא בני אדם, בקרוב יהיו יותר
ולא בכל מקום יש אוכל לכולנו
במקום אחד יש אוכל לכולם
במקום שני מעט, בשלישי הוא לא קיים
ובוא נגיד לרגע שזה קצת מענין אותנו, לא?

כשאתה חוצה את הרחוב
ורואה איזה פליט שלא נראה כל כך טוב
אל תשכח מאיפה אתה בא
מאיזה פליט שדומה לך
לא לא אל תגיד לי ״אל תגזים״
אבותינו גם היו פליטים

Father Abraham

Sometimes I just sit around and think
About the Bible and our father, Abraham
Thinking about our father, our Father Abraham
